Video is the most expensive thing you can generate on Callirra, and the spread between models is far wider than most people expect. Knowing the per-second rate is the difference between a 30-credit clip and a 320-credit clip.
Per-second rates (credits)
- Cheapest 10s 720p option in the catalogue: 30 credits (Grok Imagine Video 1.5 preview, image-to-video).
- Kling 3.0, standard mode, 720p: 14 credits per second.
- Seedance 2.5: 480p 14/s, 720p 32/s (140 and 320 credits for 10 seconds).
- MiniMax H3: 480P 1/s, 768P 2/s, 1080P 3/s, 2K 10/s.
The practical consequence: a 10-second 720p clip on Seedance 2.5 costs 320 credits, while the same duration on the cheapest route is 30. Both are legitimate — one buys motion quality, the other buys iterations.
The spread, model by model (10 seconds, quoted from our own table)
- MiniMax H3, 480P: 10 credits. 768P: 20. 1080P: 30. 2K: 100.
- Grok Imagine Video 1.5 preview, image-to-video 720p: 30 credits — the cheapest 720p route we list.
- Seedance 1 Pro Fast, image-to-video 720p: 36. Seedance 1 Lite, 720p: 45.
- Kling 2.6, 720p: 110. Kling 3.0 standard is a per-second product at a higher rate again.
- Seedance 2.5, 480p: 140. 720p: 320.
- Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p: 20 credits for a 4-second clip (5/s). Veo 3.1 Quality, 720p: 150 for the same 4 seconds (37.5/s).
Read down that list and the spread is not a rounding difference: the cheapest and the most expensive 720p ten-second clip differ by roughly 11x (30 vs 320), and the 2K lanes sit above both. Nothing in the list is a promotion — every rate is set per model and tier and is the price you pay, with no per-call markup added at checkout.
Iterate cheap, deliver expensive
The useful consequence of an 11x spread is that you can afford to be wrong ten times before you pay for being right once. Ten 5-second 480P takes on MiniMax H3 cost 50 credits all in; a single 10-second 720p Seedance 2.5 render costs 320. Blocking out a scene at 480P and finishing only the take that works is the single biggest lever on video spend — the resolution changes, the prompt does not.
It also means the tier you pick matters more than the model you pick. MiniMax H3 alone spans 1 credit per second at 480P to 10 at 2K: ten times the price for the same second of footage, same model, same prompt.
What else moves the bill
- Video-to-video bills the input as well as the output. A 15-second source driving a 4-second edit is 19 billed seconds on Seedance 2.5, not 4 — we read the real duration of your file rather than assuming it equals the output length.
- Reference images beyond the free allowance cost credits each. On MiniMax H3 the first five are free and the rest are 3 credits at 2K, so a nine-reference run adds 12 credits; the 480P/768P/1080P tiers have no extra image charge.
- Audio you upload as a driver is free on H3 — the soundtrack is generated with the picture rather than charged per second.
- A failed render is refunded to the pool it came from, so a failed generation costs you nothing but the wait.
What the free credits actually buy
- Week one is 18 credits: 18 seconds of 480P on MiniMax H3, or 9 seconds at 768P. Veo bills per generation (20 credits), so it starts on a paid plan.
- Every week after is 15 credits: 15 seconds at 480P, or 7 seconds at 768P after rounding down.
- One 10-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p is 320 credits, so that lane is a paid-plan or top-up purchase by design rather than something the weekly allowance absorbs.
If the goal is to publish rather than to explore, the honest arithmetic is: four 768P H3 takes a week on free credits, or a single 720p Seedance 2.5 render per month on the Starter plan. Both are real choices — they buy different things.
Plan maths
- Starter, 800 credits per cycle: about 26 clips at the cheapest 720p rate.
- Pro, 3,000 credits: about 100.
- Max, 8,000 credits: about 266 clips at the cheapest 720p rate — or 25 clips on Seedance 2.5 at 720p.
- Max-L, 18,000 credits: about 56 clips on Seedance 2.5 at 720p.
How to keep video spend predictable
- Storyboard in images first. An image costs single-digit credits; a video costs hundreds.
- Prefer image-to-video over text-to-video when you already have a composition — it converges faster and often at a lower rate.
- Keep durations short. Cost scales linearly with seconds, so 5s costs half of 10s.
- Watch the reservation: credits are held when the job starts and refunded automatically if a generation fails.
Concurrency is per plan (1 on the free allowance, 2 on Starter up to 12 on Max-L), so on a large plan you can run several clips in parallel without queueing.
