Laundromat Night Wait

A laundromat photo held still: drums turn, a page turns, green fluorescents against one orange glow.

The prompt

The room, the machines, the chairs and the person stay exactly as in the reference photo. Two drum machines turn slowly with wet clothes tumbling, and the person on the plastic chair turns a page and glances up at the clock. The camera stays locked off on a tripod in the corner, letting the turning drums fill the foreground. Flat green fluorescents overhead, one warm orange dryer glow on the right wall, floor tiles worn pale. 16mm, muted colour. Audio: drum rumble, a coin, a page turning.

Why it works

The camera is deliberately locked off, which is the most reliable way to animate a still: with no camera move to render, the model spends all its attention on turning drums and one small human gesture. Green fluorescents against a single orange dryer glow read instantly as a laundromat at night without becoming a neon fantasy. Muted colour keeps it ordinary, which is the point.

What to put in the reference image

Upload a photo of a laundromat interior at night with at least one front-loading machine and a seat in view, shot level and wide enough to include the room. Because the shot is deliberately locked off, any tilt in the photo becomes a tilted frame.

Prompts stay in English on every language of this site: that is the language the model was trained on, and translating a prompt changes what it renders. The page around it is translated.
