Why it works
The reveal is the camera move, so the person gets one simple action, climb and stop and look, then holds while the crane does the work. First light is written as two temperatures, gold on the roofs and blue in the streets, which reads as dawn without needing a time-lapse. Wind and gulls tell the model how far away the city is.
